Selecting Parental Control Level

There are several different ways to turn Parental Control on or off.

To select which Parental Control filter which to turn on:
  1. Right-click the Shaw Secure task bar icon, and then click Parental Control.
  2. Select the filter that you want Child, Teenager, or Parent. By default here is what each setting does:
    • Parent - Turns off Web site filter.
    • Teenager - Web filter by category.
    • Child - Parent approved pages only.
  3. When prompted, type your Parental Control password.
  4. Click OK.
To turn Parental Control on or off using the Shaw Secure interface:
  1. Right-click the Shaw Secure task bar icon, then select Open Shaw Secure.
  2. Click the Parental Control tab.
  3. Select the filter that you want Child, Teenager, or Parent.
  4. When prompted, type your Parental Control password.
  5. Click OK.
To turn Parental Control on or off from within Internet Explorer:
  1. On the Internet Explorer toolbar, click the Parental Control icon.
  2. Select the filter that you want Child, Teenager, or Parent.
  3. When prompted, type your Parental Control password.
  4. Click OK.
