Blocking Email From Specific Addresses

In addition to automatic email filtering, Spam Control also lets you manually block email from specific addresses. You can also manually permit email from addresses that are blocked by default.

The following instructions are for blocking an email address, however the procedure for permitting email from addresses blocked by default is similar.

To block an email address using the task bar icon:
  1. Right-click your Shaw Secure task bar icon, and then click Spam Control.
  2. Click Allow / Filter sender.
  3. In the Address box, type the email address you would like to block.
  4. Optionally, type a description to help you remember what this email address is or why you blocked it.
  5. Click OK to close the Add Sender/Domain box.
To block an email address from the Shaw Secure user interface:
  1. Open Shaw Secure.
  2. Click the Advanced link.
  3. Click the plus sign next to the Spam Control category, and then click Filtered Senders.
  4. Click Add.
  5. In the Address box, type the email address you would like to block.
  6. Optionally, type a description to help you remember what this email address is or why you blocked it.
  7. Click OK to close the Add Sender/Domain box.
  8. Click OK to close the advanced settings window.
To block an email address from within Outlook Express:
  1. On the Outlook Express toolbar, click the Spam Control icon.
  2. Click Filter Sender.
  3. In the Address box, type the email address you would like to block.
  4. Optionally, type a description to help you remember what this email address is or why you blocked it.
  5. Click OK to close the Add Sender/Domain box.
